EDITOR’S LETTER

Life is a classroom. It is a constant learning experience. You see, feel, hear touch things new every day and learn from it. Fashion is no different. These new experiences inspire and influences everyone into being creative in their own way for themselves. We call that self-expression. There has never been a better time for self-expression and acceptance. We launched this publication to respect and honor this self-expression.

Fashion is self-expression. It is tremendously if not 100% influenced by environment people grow up in. It is a “Response to Stimuli”. Psychologically it is not very hard to analyze someone in general by their self-expression. A professional fashion editor who is educated in the art of fashion and history can actually guestimate a lot about a person, like what part of the world they grew up in. Things like if they went to an art school or a business school. Or they watched a lot of television or films or theatre. Of Course, guess the genre of music someone might be into. When it comes to myself, I consider myself as a journalist. I like reporting what I see on the streets rather than judging. I leave judging to the professionals. Hopefully, that keeps our publication fresh as fashion is ever evolving.

Fashion has become quite commercial nowadays. To an extent, most people started to think of what they see on TV and People magazine is actual fashion. Many of us haven’t even heard of all the countless number of fashion designers out there that are super talented, may or may not be funded and underground. Fashion is not just about one person that is the name of the brand. But in fact, it takes hundreds of other people to collaborate to make the real thing the whole brand.

We started this publication in an effort to explore these areas of fashion that are worth noticing. To give access to our readers what’s available out there in the market. To be complementary additions to the usual brands we see like Prada, Gucci, Versace etc. What better way to explore this than to ask people from fashion capital of the world “Soho, New York”. We are not going to cover someone or the brand just because they paid us some ad revenue. Or someone because they are the daughter of some one-hit wonder pop artist. Contrarily if we feel like they have a unique voice that is refreshing, that is one of a kind and genuine we will be all over them and we love to feature. Finally, if anyone knows someone that is unique please let us know. We would love to do a feature.
